The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is seeking a volunteer for a pro bono opportunity related to a matter pending in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Thank you to Blake Taelman and Mike Matthews of Foley & Lardner LLP for volunteering for the previous pro bono opportunity!

Judge James Moody is seeking a volunteer attorney to review a recently filed complaint, speak with the plaintiffs, and assess whether a viable claim may be pleaded. Plaintiffs Rachel Card and her disabled minor child are alleging that the defendant did not provide educational services to the disabled minor child and did not provide assistive devices and accommodations, among other claims. Further details are available in the court file, Card v. Citrus County School Board, Case No. 5:15-cv-00005-JSM-PRL.

Please contact the chair of the FBA Tampa Bay Chapter’s Pro Bono Committee, Mike Matthews of Foley & Lardner LLP, at 813-225-4131 or mmatthews@foley.com as soon as possible if you are interested in providing assistance on a pro bono basis. To the extent costs are incurred, reimbursement from the Bench Bar Fund may be requested (in advance of incurring the costs).
