Pathway to the Bankruptcy Bench: Building a Pipeline
The Tampa Bay Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is proud to present Pathway to the Bankruptcy Bench: Building a Pipeline. Ever consider becoming a federal judge? This program features a panel discussion of what it takes to be a federal judge and offers a unique insight into the different paths to the federal judiciary. The panelists include Circuit Judge Bernice Donald, Circuit Judge Catharina Haynes, District Judge Mary Scriven, Bankruptcy Judge Catherine Peek McEwen, and Denise Barnett. The panelists will then join the following judges and seasoned bankruptcy practitioners for an interactive roundtable discussion: Circuit Court Judge Charles Wilson, District Court Judge James Moody, Chief Bankruptcy Judge Michael Williamson, Magistrate Judge Julie Sneed, Magistrate Judge Mac McCoy, Jeffery Warren, Esq. and Liz Greene, Esq.
The purpose of this program is to recruit diverse practitioners to follow the path to a bankruptcy practice in hopes of building a pipeline of qualified diverse candidates to serve on the bankruptcy court for many years to come. The program mirrors one offered by the Judicial Conference of the United States’ Committee on the Administration of the Bankruptcy System.
